Black Plastic and Rubber Care

303 Aerospace Protectant is highly recommended for cleaning and protection of plastic/rubber items such as dashboards, tires, rubber gaskets and anything plastic or rubber. It contains no petroleum or silicone products. It provides UV protection and leaves a matte (not shiny) finish. Can be ordered from online detailing supply stores.
Meguiar's NXT Tech Protect is a good product as well. This product is much more greasy than 303 Aerospace Protectant, and is less expensive. It also provides UV protection, but leaves a SHINY finish. Can be found at most retail outlets (AutoZone, Wal*Mart, etc.) and online.
Gummi Pflege is a rubber care product for restoring and preserving seals; especially window and trunk seals. There have been reports of leaks being stopped by the use of Gummi Pflege, which softens and actually puffs-up the rubber which has contracted due to drying. It has the additional property of preventing freezing in winter. This product was originally sold by BMW through its dealers, but was withdrawn by BMW in 2004. It still can be found for purchase in a different style of packaging by performing a Google search.

Black Again an be used to bring back the depth and richness to black rubber and plastic, such as the bumperettes and the plastic area where the windshield wipers are attached. It works like a lotion by penetrating into the pores of rubber and vinyl, dissolving wax residues and restoring the trim to a like-new appearance. This product leaves a bright almost "wet-look" shine. Its longevity is impacted by driving in rain; the product continues to be there, but not nearly at the level it originally starts out at. Forever Black is different from all of the above products because it contains black dye which darkens the rubber of plastic instead of using an oil or silicone. The dye isn't permanent, but lasts much longer than other treatments and doesn't attract dust. For real problem solving of aged, faded plastic & rubber, there are many reports of great results. It can be purchased from many online care care outlets.
